Discovering the old silent movies, I was under big impression of how actors worked with their facial expression. I've decided to take Buster Keaton's face for sculpting, but on the way, while looking for references, I came across a great caricature of him by Rob Snow, that I totally loved at first sign, so I stole it from him to use as my main reference. I had hard times analyzing the anatomy of this face, as the caricatures are amazing at how much anatomy knowledge is actually needed to make them look less complex than the realistic one portraits.

I used several other reference photos of Buster, both from his youth and elderly years.
